On Wednesday, June 24, 2009 had his 9 month well check. We went into the doctor's office and he got weighed and measured. He now weighs 18 pounds and 13 ounces and is 26 inches long. While we were at the doctor's office, he also got 2 shots and a foot prick to test his Hemoglobin. The shots were for Hepatitis and Polio. He will never have to get those shots again.
At the doctor's office in the room was a little bird in a cage that chirped when it detected motion. Bryson thought it was funny and kept trying to grab it to make the bird make noise.
After his Hemoglobin was checked, I was told that he could start having milk instead of formula. We tried the milk tonight for one bottle and it didn't go so well. Bryson screamed like he was in pain the way he did when he was a newborn before we knew that he had a lactose intolerance. On top of that, I think that the little guy may be getting sick. He has sounded really raspy all day. :( He hasn't been sick yet, so I pray that he won't stay sick for very long.

First mini vacation
Bryson went on his first mini vacation to the great state of Indiana. We left on a Saturday night after Daddy got off of work and came home on Wednesday June 3, 2009. Bryson pretty much slept the whole way up there with the exception of waking up at the Alabama/Tennessee state line to eat and get a diaper change. After that, we were back on the road again to go the rest of the way.
Once we arrived in Indiana, we stopped at my Grandma's house to see her. Bryson was being his typical self and was in a great mood. He smiled and explored around the kitchen. He found the little puppies in their pen and started laughing hysterically when they started licking him. It was quite funny to us too.
After we left Grandma's, we headed up to my dad's house so that he could meet his grandson for the first time. The meeting went rather well. My dad "chased" him around the living room and they both had a blast. That night, after the first round of visiting, we went back to my Grandma's to sleep. Bryson was standing on the bed playing with Daddy and then all of a sudden fell asleep. It was kind of like someone just flipped a switch to the off position.
The next day was Monday and we woke up to the phone ringing. After everyone got baths and showers, we were out the door again. We went back to my Dad's house to spend the afternoon. Not really a whole lot happened. When we left Dad's we went back to Grandma's house for dinner. It was Arni's Pizza!!! After dinner, we headed out to my aunt Trish's house. Bryson played with the toys on the porch and had fun until it was time to go to my cousins house.
Upon arriving at Justin and Kirstie's apartment, Bryson got to meet 2 of his cousins, my cousin, and his uncle for the first time. Watching all three babies was absolutely amazing!! They all sat playing in the floor together until someone went to take a picture, and then they would scatter. Well, Bryson and Ella would scatter. Lilly can't go anywhere yet.
Tuesday we met up with my cousin Dustin at my Dad's. Bryson got to meet his other uncle and go for a ride on the 4-wheeler. His Grandpa took him for a ride around the yard and he really seemed to enjoy it.
When it was finally time to go home, we got on the road and headed down I-65 South. The trip normally takes about 10 to 11 hours, but on the way home there was a traffic accident near Cullman, AL. We ended up parked on the interstate for about an hour or so. With all of the stops that we made to let Bryson get out of his seat to stretch his legs and the accident it took us 20 hours to get home!!! He did such an amazing job on the trip. I hope that he does that well in October when it is time to go back up there for a family reunion.
