1 year well check
Bryson had his 1 year well check on Thursday, September 24, 2009 at 1:30 pm. It was raining when we got to the doctor's office, so once we got back in the room, Bryson wanted to be near the window so that he could see the rain. He absolutely loves water! Once the nurse practioner, Mrs. Cathy, came in he started talking and flirting nonstop. She absolutely couldn't believe how much he was talking. While I was still filling out paperwork so that he could get his shots, Daddy took him to be weighed and measured. He gained 3lbs and grew 3 inches since his 9 month well check. He now weighs 21.87 lbs and is 28" long. When he was born, he was 18" long and weighed 5 lbs 4 oz.

Just turned 1
So, a lot of exciting stuff has happened since the last time I updated this thing!!
First off, Bryson has turned 1, although I'm not really sure exactly how that happened. It's hard to believe that he is 1 already. Where does the time go? We celebrated our little man's birthday on Saturday, August 29, 2009 at Cain Griffin Park in Lynn Haven. It was very hot outside, and didn't rain. His birthday was done in a Luau theme. He seemed to have a lot of fun with the guests, food, cake, and presents. For lunch, we served pizza. After lunch, he smashed his own cake and the guests had another cake. He really enjoyed the cake! At first, he wasn't exactly sure what to do with it, but he figured it out quickly. Bryson picked the icing off the cake and then proceeded to scoop it all towards him and was determined not to share. After cake, he was able to open his presents and was delighted to play with the wrapping paper afterwards. He ended up getting $45 in Toys R Us gift cards, several cards, a few outfits, some stuffed animals, a suit for church, and even a few dollars cash.
Secondly, Bryson now has a total of 9 teeth and is doing very well with food. He absolutely loves to eat Gerber's Cheese Crunchies and whatever else we will give him. He is also no longer on formula and is drinking only milk in his bottles. He is doing really well with the milk and going through a gallon in about 2 days. He doesn't really want much to do with his bottle when we have regular food though, he would rather have what we are having. He has used a sippy cup since about 6 months, but will very rarely drink milk out of it. So therefore, breaking him of the bottle will be our next big project.
And lastly, he has finally started standing on his own without holding on to anything. A few days after he started standing, he took a few steps. Talk about one proud mommy and daddy! Here lately, he has discovered that this is a new way to get somewhere and has been practicing. Pretty soon, he will be walking all over the place!!
